EPDM is one of the most widely used synthetic rubbers. It can be found in several industries ranging from automotive to HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning). This is due mainly to its excellent resistance to water, steam, oxidation, ozone, acids and alkalis, as well as its ability to withstand significant temperature fluctuations (-50ºC to +160ºC).

It exhibits extremely low temperature flexibility and can resist temperatures of up to 160ºC with peroxide curing. It is typically available in a durometer range of between 40 and 90. While it is quite resistant to abrasions, and compression set, EPDM has a very poor resistance to oil.
